In case you have questions about the labyrinth experience
I've never walked a labyrinth before. What should I expect?
Like other spiritual practices, the experience of walking a labyrinth differs from person to person. Silent prayer or reflection often is part of the experience, but there is no right or wrong way to walk a labyrinth.
Someone will be present to offer a brief orientation to walking the indoor labyrinth. An optional guide also will be available each week to help participants focus on a different aspect of Walking in the Wilderness.
How long does walking the labyrinth take?
We suggest you plan on at least 30 minutes, although the experience may take more or less time, depending on the individual. Each week there also will be an activity related to the week's focus that individuals may opt to do on their own after finishing the labyrinth.
Is there a charge, or do I need to make a reservation?
There is no charge to walk the labyrinth. There also is no need to make a reservation if you plan to come during "open" hours. (See information above.)
Would it be possible to arrange to bring a group at a different time?
Yes! Groups may request to use the labyrinth at other times by contacting kpalen@abcori.org.
Did I read something about luncheons and worship services?
A light lunch and brief service will be available at noon on each of the three Fridays (March 8, 15, and 22). To make a lunch reservation, contact kpalen@abcori.org by noon on Wednesday of that week.
Would it be possible to walk the labyrinth more than once?
Absolutely! Some people may find it meaningful to walk the labyrinth each of the weeks that it is available. The guides will offer suggestions for a different focus each week.
